Abstract

Defining and Annotating the coreference of events has proven a difficult task.  Reasons include the complexity of events, the consequent problems in specifying adequate annotation instructions, and the need for suitable annotation interfaces and evaluation procedures.  We adopt an approach that recognizes partial event overlap and various types of partial coreference. The process of defining an annotation schema requires an infrastructure to support the experimentation and comparison of results.  In this talk I describe our  main ideas for dealing with event coreference,  as well as the infrastructure and the procedures established to facilitate human collaborative annotation of event coreference.

M. Felisa Verdejo es catedrática en el Departamento de Lenguajes y Sistemas Informáticos de la UNED. Sus intereses de investigación incluyen el Procesamiento del Lenguaje Natural aplicado a los Sistemas de Acceso a la Información y los Entornos Interactivos y Colaborativos de Aprendizaje.
